We pay for books, CDs, DVDs, pay for the players, computers and displays. We pay television services. We pay for the legislators who made the locks that prohibit us from doing what we want with our purchases. We pay for the police who are responsible for (try to) enforce these laws, and judges us for violating jug. We pay for prisons, of course, and the technological media, for copiers and blank CDs (violate intellectual property rights or not.) We pay and pay and pay.
